A hands-on demonstration of techniques for traditional Boro textiles, made of layered scraps of worn fabric, carefully hand stitched together to strengthen garments, rugs, and blankets.

Students had hands-on access to several 19th & 20th century Boro items from Carol’s collection of indigo textiles. A curated selection of Japanese fabrics and sewing notions was available for purchase during class sessions.
